Do you want to know what HW will look like?  General rules and information? Check out the "Classroom Information" link to the left.

Also, peruse the "Web Resources" for ideas to help your child in his/her preparations for the fun and rigor of third grade.
Below, you will find some things you can do through the year to ensure your child gets practice in the needed skills. We look forward to a year of growth and learning, and can’t wait to see all of our new third grade faces.

Working With Your Child at Home

  • Please have your child memorize addition and subtraction facts before the school year starts.

  • Practice adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers  with and without regrouping.

  • Practice the 2, 5, and 10 times tables, and begin to memorize multiplication facts (this will be a big focus in 3rd grade).

  • Please read every day. 30 minutes minimum each day is recommended. Reading can include independent reading, partner reading with a friend or sibling, or a family read aloud.

Before school begins, Email is the BEST way to reach me
. After, Bloomz (below) may be our goto method.

This year I will use the Bloomz app for parent communication, including notifications, photos, and sign-ups (i.e. conference sign-ups).

If you are a dreamer, come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a tryer
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
Come in!
